Things to get involved in

  • The CPNA runs programs quarterly through the City of Kitchener. Registration for these is arranged through ACTIVE Net.

    For more information on CPNA’s programs please see here.

  • The CPNA holds some events annually. These include: Spring Clean-up and BBQ, Neighbour Day, Plant Sale, Corn Social, and Cherry Festival. For more information on these events see our Events Page.

  • The CPNA runs a Development Committee which connects and empowers residents to provide feedback on development proposals within the CPNA boundaries.

    We also connect with the King Edwards parent group to address traffic concerns such as parking, speeding, and traffic volume.

  • The rink in Cherry Park is currently CLOSED for the season and will remain closed until next year.

    We are always looking for volunteers to help us build up and maintain the ice rink in the winter as conditions allow. If you would like to get involved please send us a message here.

  • The CPNA runs three community Gardens: Old Willow Green, Willow Green Extension, and Gildner Green. For more information and to request a plot visit here.

2024 Spring Cleanup a Smashing Success

Huge thank you to all of the Cherry Park Neighbourhood volunteers who helped plan and execute the 2024 Spring Clean Up.

We had 45 folks out and picked up a WHOPPING 39 bags of garbage PLUS several things which do not fit into a bag. That means we beat last year's count by 14 bags!

Calling in our load to the city, the operator gave an audible gasp at the quantity and asked me to pass on her thanks. We hope to see you again next year for another neighbourhood refresh.

2024 Neighbourhood Spring Cleanup

Dear Neighbors,As the flowers bloom and the days get longer, it's time to give our community a fresh start for spring! We're excited to invite you to join us for a neighborhood cleanup event. Let's come together to beautify our streets, parks, and shared spaces.

PRIZES FOR THE MOST UNUSUAL PIECE OF GARBAGE FOUND 

When: April 27th at 9:00am. 

What to bring: Most importantly, your enthusiasm! Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. If you have your own gloves, do bring them as we like to reuse as much as possible!

Where: Meet at the Gazebo at the entrance to Cherry Park on Strange St. anytime between 9:00am and 12:00pm to get your supplies and dedicated section of the neighbourhood to clean. We are child and dog friendly so bring the whole family. 

At noon we will host a BBQ in the same place to thank all of you for your help. Hotdogs and lemonade to be served until supplies run out :)

Seeking Organizing Team for Spring Clean Up Event

🌸🌱 Are you passionate about keeping our neighborhood clean and green? Do you love bringing people together for a good cause? We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our organizing committee for the upcoming Spring Clean-Up event!

As a member of the organizing committee, you'll play a vital role in orchestrating a successful and enjoyable community event. Responsibilities include:

🔹 Planning and coordinating logistics for the clean-up event
🔹 Organizing a post-clean-up BBQ for volunteers
🔹 Promoting the event within the community
🔹 Ensuring the safety and well-being of all volunteers
